A Truly Special Commission: My Own Family Portrait by the Talented Artist Pameli

One of my most recent — and most meaningful — commissions is our very own family portrait, masterfully painted by the incredibly gifted Pameli. Creating a beautiful family photo can often be tricky in itself — coordinating everyone's expressions, poses, and the right setting is no small feat! Ideally, a portrait like this is painted from a professionally taken studio photo, with perfect lighting and composition.

But life doesn’t always align with ideal conditions.

Due to travel plans and a whirlwind of commitments, we couldn’t manage a proper studio session. Despite this, Pameli took on the challenge with grace and artistic brilliance. She worked from non-studio, candid photographs — a task that would intimidate many artists — and brought our family to life on canvas with stunning precision and warmth.

Another challenge was my own photo — I simply couldn’t get a shot of myself that felt just right. So we decided to get a little creative and combine elements from older pictures. With Pameli’s keen eye and artistic sensitivity, she blended it all seamlessly.
